I received a gift today. A beautiful, colorful gift bag with oodles of tissue paper flowing out the top and a tag that read, “For Terri.” And it’s not even my birthday!
The beautiful gift bag contained an even more beautiful book with the subtitle, “Thoughts on living a brave and real and gorgeous life.”
I couldn’t wait to read it, so as my husband drove home I became entranced in this short book full of lovely pictures, designs and encouraging words.
Even more encouraging were the handwritten words of my friend inside the front cover.
“I saw this book and I thought of you.” Me? The words I read were words that I hope to be and aspire to be but I have a hard time believing that they are me.
Sometimes it takes another person’s encouragement to help me believe in myself. God gives us what we need, at just the right time, through others. There’s nothing random about it.
I am grateful.
